World B. Free played in the NBA for 13 seasons with the San Diego Clippers, Golden State, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Houston. His legacy as a trash talker and a versatile player continues today through the K1X World B. Free Summer 2009 Collection. K1X gave us some early word on this line ahead of its May 2009 release and you can stay tuned for more news by heading to the brand’s website linked here.
The centerpiece of the K1X World B. Free Collection is the K1X Chiefglider Lo pictured above. The Chiefglider Lo is modeled after the now-defunct San Diego Clippers (and before them, the Buffalo Braves) jerseys with blue, orange and white hues. K1X painted cans of Campbell’s Soup on each shoe in honor of World B. Free’s habit of heckling shooters by yelling “hot soup.”
K1X rounded out this collection with their DCAC and Meet the Parents basketball sneakers. The K1X DCACs are leather casual shoes available in purple and white through participating shops. K1X’s Meet the Parents is covered with light gray tweed and keeps the wearer’s feet comfortable with soft leather collars. While World B. Free may not compete with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant in the minds of young NBA fans, we can remember his flamboyant court style through the K1X World B. Free Summer 2009 Collection.
